May 27 to 31 The Burger Land arrives in Lorca
A weekend of great food and live music at the La Merced visitors centre in Lorca
For the weekend of 27th to 31st May the city of Lorca, and more specifically the area around the La Merced visitors’ centre, is set to become one of the focal points of urban gastronomy in the Region of Murcia as the city welcomes The Burger Land and a series of live music events.
This annual “gastromusic” festival is quickly becoming established as one of the major events of its kind in the Costa Cálida, and among the musical entertainment are tributes to the groups Estopa and Extremoduro on Saturday 30th May as well as sessions by local and regional DJs.
A special regional flavour is added by the requirement that all of the food trucks present must include at least one specific ingredient from Murcia in their burger of choice, such as the meat of the “chato murciano” pig or locally produced cheeses. Of course members of the public can vote for their favourite burgers (using a QR code system), and throughout the event there are various other events and activities planned for all the family.
For more visiting information, local events and news contact the tourist office at the Palacio de Guevara (telephone 968 441914) or go to the home page of Lorca Today.
