Los Alcázares hosts first ever International Senior Fair with assistance from Caser Residencial

ARCHIVED ARTICLE -

The three-day event, dedicated to the elderly community, proved a great success and had Caser Residencial among the key participants

From Friday May 23 to Sunday 25, the town of Los Alcázares in the Region of Murcia became the meeting point for the first ever Feria Senior Internacional (International Senior Fair), an event dedicated entirely to the elderly community.

The fair brought together institutions, care professionals, companies and experts from the senior care sector to celebrate, inform and engage with older residents and their families.

Over the course of the weekend, attendees enjoyed a full programme of activities, including informative talks, lively performances and a well-received tapas route.

The event highlighted the importance of promoting wellbeing, active ageing and social connection among older citizens, both local and international.

One of the organisations taking part was Caser Residencial, represented by the team from its Santo Ángel centre in Murcia city, which specialises in elderly care, post-fall recovery, neurorehabilitation and short-term respite stays. The facility also includes a dedicated International Unit, designed specifically for English-speaking expats and other non-Spanish speakers needing care in their native language.

On the Friday, Caser Residencial joined a panel discussion alongside other industry leaders to address current challenges and future opportunities in the residential care sector.

Representing Caser were Susi Martínez Sánchez, Customer Service Manager, and Cristina García Cutillas, Care Manager at Santo Ángel, who shared their professional insights on improving care for the elderly.

Speaking after the event, they described it as “an enriching meeting that allows us to continue building a more solid and people-centred sector. A dialogue between professionals is key to moving towards a care model that responds to the real needs of our elderly and their families.”

They added, “The future of care homes is being built today, and we are proud to be an active part of this change.”

The Town Hall of Los Alcázares expressed its appreciation to the OSATE Association, which helped to organise the event, for choosing the town as the venue and for its dedication in making the fair such a success.

The positive response to this first edition of the Feria Senior Internacional suggests it could become an important annual gathering in the Region, bringing continued focus to the evolving needs and aspirations of its growing elderly population.
