December 28 Guided tour IN ENGLISH of Alhama de Murcia castle
Enjoy a guided tour of Alhama castle following the recent completion of the restoration work
This guided tour is an unrivalled opportunity to see and learn about the recently restored Alhama de Murcia castle, and begins at 11am at the Los Baños archaeological museum.
Repair and restoration work at the castle of Alhama de Murcia has meant that the fortress has been closed to the public for quite some time, but now that is all finished, this is your chance to step into the rich history of this majestic Islamic fortress, which has stood guard over the Guadalentín Valley since the late 11th century.
Entitled ‘Encounters in the Castle’, this visit will allow visitors to learn about the history of the town’s emblematic monument. Accompanied by an official guide, you can visit the old defensive enclosures, the fortress at the top and the albacar, where the dwellings were once located.
This experience is not recommended for those with limited mobility.
The tour on December 28 is conducted entirely in English and lasts for approximately two hours. It costs just 3 euros for adults and 2 euros for children aged 3 to 12. Booking is compulsory as places are limited.
